In recent times the authenticity of the La Salette messages has been called into question by the Professor of Ecclesiology at Ecône. He would have us believe that Archbishop Lefebvre himself was reticent in their regard, not least regarding the eclipse of the Faith in Rome and its occupation by the forces of evil.

The following letter may help to dispel such an assertion.

Forward written by Mgr Lefebvre for Documentation sur la Revolution dans l’Eglise by Father Guilio Tam

(4th March 1991)

[possibly Archbishop Lefebvre’s last writing]

Father Guilio Tam, a member of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X, of Italian nationality, who each day receives the Osservatore Romano, the official newspaper of the Roman Curia, thought it a good idea, for the information of his confreres, to put together the most significant passages taken from the Pope’s speeches and from the Roman authorities on the most pressing topics.

This compilation casts such a striking light on the doctrinal Revolution officially inaugurated in the Church in the Council and which continues to the present day so that one cannot help thinking of the “Seat of iniquity” predicted by Leo XIII, or of the loss of Faith of Rome predicted by Our Lady at La Salette.

The propagation and the adhesion of the Roman authorities to the Masonic errors condemned so many times by their predecessors is a great mystery of iniquity which ruins the foundations of the Catholic Faith.

This hard and painful reality obliges us in conscience to organise by ourselves the defence and the protection of our Catholic Faith. The fact of sitting on the seats of authority is no longer, alas, a guarantee of orthodoxy of the faith of those who occupy them. The Pope himself propagates without ceasing the principles of a false religion, which have for result a general apostasy.

We present therefore the attached texts, without comment, from the year 1990. The readers can judge for themselves, and by means of the texts from the Popes before the Council.

This reading justifies amply our conduct for the maintaining and the restoration of the Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ and of His Holy Mother on earth as it is in heaven.

The restorer of Christendom is the priest by means of the offering of the true Sacrifice, by the conferring of the true sacraments, by the teaching of the true catechism, by his role as a vigilant shepherd for the salvation of souls.

It is around these true and faithful priests that Catholics should re-group and organise the whole Christian life.

Any spirit of diffidence towards these priests who deserve confidence, diminishes the solidity and the firmness of the resistance against the destructors of the Faith.

Saint John ended his Apocalypse with this call: “Veni Domine Jesu,” Come O Lord Jesus, appear at last on the clouds of heaven, manifest your Almightiness, may your Reign be universal and eternal!
